A multi-level terracing hardscape of Travertine and classic Virginia plantings helped this family make better use of their hillside property. The landscape design was created to accommodate the homeowner’s desire for a modern pool with the goal of preserving the view of the James River. With an eye towards “garden” and “free form” feel, the pool had to be a rectangle to accommodate the pool cover. The back of this modern ranch-style home is all glass creating stunning views, incorporating modern furniture and connecting the family to nature.
