For the January/ February 2017 issue of RHome, an article by Jessica Ronky Haddad with photos by Barry Fitzgerald, Marcia Fryer's landscape design for a Salisbury home on the southside of Richmond, Virginia, shows how attention to outdoor living helped a blended family create more useful outdoor space and a place to play.

"Landscape designer Marcia Fryer designed a two-level stone patio, complete with pergola, fireplace, and outdoor television, that the family can use three seasons out of the year."

The family was looking to add square footage to the house, as it came to useful space, for this new family of seven, and Marcia helped do just that.  With a traditional red brick exterior, the hardscape design used corresponding red brick and cut bluestone to extend family living space into the backyard. Be it for dining or gathering, playing or entertaining, Marcia's eye for casual comfort and logical, everyday usage blended in seamlessly for the neighborhood and family needs.
